I will try and explain as much about the car as possible in this description to make it more clear for potential bidders who may not be able to view...
The reason for sale is I"ve just bought another mini and I want to focus my attention on that. I"ve owned this car since this time last year, it came in part exchange at a local Aston Martin dealership. I"ve learnt as much as I can about the car through the big A4 binder full of history & invoices... Originally the car left the factory as silver with the contrasting red interior... It was owned by a doctor in the late 80"s who thought every Ferrari should be red, and was professionally resprayed and has obviously been red since. The car has been owned purely by enthusiasts and has only really been used as weekend car, hence the low mileage. It has always been dry stored. It"s a very original example, still has all of the original book packs / manuals / radio guide / owners service book. It even has things such as the original new vehicle order form, old newspaper cut outs, all the old V5"s & much more.
Exterior: The bodywork of the car is in excellent condition, I"m not going to say its concourse or showroom as everyone"s opinions differ... but I really do think you will struggle to find an early Mondial in better condition. It"s finished in 2K Rosso red, and there is nothing really to mention that it could be flagged up on. There are no rust spots on the car and there"s no sign of any developing any time soon. The wheels are off a 348 and have been recently refurbished. Hopefully the pictures do it justice.
Interior: The interior is also in excellent condition for its age, once again probably due to the low mileage. There is age related wear and tear but nothing major. It cleans up really well. Once again, hopefully the pictures do it justice.
As far as service history goes there is too much to list... It has every service and parts invoice back to the mid 80"s. The majority of the service work was carried out at Ferrari specialist Maranello"s / Dick Lovett"s & Nick Cartwright"s. There"s thousands of pounds worth of invoices and like I say there really is too much to list. The cambelt was done early last year and it has barely covered a thousand miles since. It has recently had a oil change inc filter. Mechanically the car is sound and it starts every time, It maintains good oil pressure and keeps at the right temperature.
Service History: I"ve listed the majority of where the car was serviced. I haven"t listed every service or you would be reading this all day. As I said, there is a folder thick full of invoices, especially from Maranello"s 22/11/82 until 7/07/86 --- Colmore Depot Ltd 21/05/87 until 06/01/88 --- Rolls Royce Evans Halshaw 20/09/88 until 14/04/92 --- Steve Doran Porsche 07/08/92 until 22/06/04 --- Maranello Sales Ltd11/01/2005 until 02/08/06 --- Dick LovettFrom 2006 on the services were mainly carried out at Nick Cartwright"s & Shiltech Performance Cars. In March 2014 ( 2 months prior to my ownership ) the car had a £700 service which included cambelt changed, oil and filters, brake fluid change antifreeze & all basic checks etc. Its just had the oil changed again aswell as new plugs throughout & air filter change.
MOT History: All the MOT"s back to 1992, a couple are missing but here"s most of them. 1992 - 1993 --- 7,254 miles1994 - 1995 --- 7,798 miles1995 - 1996 --- 9,321 miles1998 - 1999 --- 13,518 miles1999 - 2000 --- 13,869 miles2002 - 2003 --- 14,157 miles2003 - 2004 --- 14,446 miles2004 - 2005 --- 15,553 miles2006 - 2007 --- 15,631 miles2007 - 2008 --- 16,754 miles2008 - 2009 --- 20,151 miles2009 - 2010 --- 22,047 miles2010 - 2011 --- 23,429 miles2012 - 2013 --- 24,325 miles2013 - 2014 --- 24,393 miles2014 - 2015 --- 24,927 milesTo sum up, this a used, well looked after example of a fast appreciating classic. It is a fantastic way into entry level Ferrari ownership and is a useable classic, as well as being an obvious investment. The only way these cars are going is up! All this being said, please dont turn up expecting a new Ferrari... It is a classic car and will require looking after and maintenance. I"ve had this car underwritten for £20,000, so please dont offer me £5000, a kettle and a XR2 in mint condition.... im not interested in p/xAny questions just ask and I"ll be happy to answer. If you want to view, weekends are best.
PLEASE READ: Offered at 99p start no reserve. Winning bidder to collect within 7 days. Winning bid is final price and is not negotiable. Payment preferably via bank transfer, but cash is fine. No test drives without proof of valid insurance. No dreamers. Please don"t ask to view the car with the intention of having a good look round maybe because you own/used to own one. We"re all busy people and you will not be entertained.
