This is a very good example of a Lotus ELAN M100 normally aspirated (1.6l 130 bhp 97 kW; 132 PS retailed at £17,850 in 1992). This is an extremely rare collectors item car - Altogether 3,855 ELANs were built between November 1989 and July 1992, including 129 normally aspirated cars (source Lotus Owners Club). As ONLY 129 of these cars where built by Lotus. This example is totally standard and unmodified apart from a performance exhaust system.
This car has a file full of receipts and a service booked stamped up by Lotus dealers and specialists. Literally thousands has been spent over the years keeping this car in excellent running order, and the bonus of it all being documented adds to the appeal of this car. In the last twelve months the car has had all new wheel bearings, two tyres, all belts, including cam belt, water pump, brake overhaul, and before this has had rebuilt drive shafts and new performance exhaust.
The car comes with twelve months MOT and is ready to go in time for some summer fun. This was my first Lotus, and I can definitely say it has been a pleasure to own. I now want to upgrade to an Elise, otherwise I would be keeping this car as it"s a sure fire investment and bound to only increase in value not depreciate.The car has electric windows, power steering and nice tasteful half leather interior, which in my opinion is better looking than the full leather which all seem to look very saggy on the seat bases. I looked at a few ELANs before settling on this one, I don"t think you"ll find better for the money.
