On offer is a 1999 Rover 200 BRM limited edition model, a very rare car with only about 400 left according to www.howmanyleft.co.uk, being sold on behalf of a customer.
After a positive reaction from the press and public at the 1997 Frankfurt Motor Show, Rover spent a further year developing the concept launching the Rover 200 BRM LE at the British Motor Show in October 1998. Based upon the range-topping Vi model the car drew heavily on influences from 1960"s BRM styling. The powerplant was the familiar 145 PS 1.8-litre VVC K series.
The interior boasts unique red quilted leather seats and door panels, red carpet, seat belts and steering wheel accents. In addition, there are alloy heater controls and turned aluminium trim. As with all the BRM models, the car is painted Brooklands Green with silver trim details, large 16 alloys and mesh grille sat within the orange nose, a BRM trademark reminiscent of the 1960s Formula One racing cars.
Mechanically the car sits with a lower ride height, improved damping and handling, a close-ratio gearbox with a limited slip differential, reduced torque steer and improved straight-line stability.
The car is in generally good condition with a lovely clean interior and few age related marks and scuffs on the exterior. Mechanically the car appears strong and we have detailed service history for work carried out by ourselves since 2008. Highlights include the following: new starter motor (2011), discs and calipers (2011), CV gaiters (2011), radiator (2013), battery (2014), heater resistors (2014), cambelt and waterpump (2014), handbrake cables (2014). Our customer has just a low mileage MG ZR from us and left the BRM with us to sell on their behalf.
