This is my 2006 Ford Mondeo, which I am reluctantly selling. I purchased this car in September 2019, with the intention to use it for commuting, though a change of circumstances meant it was not needed for this job, and a lack of use currently means it is better for someone else to enjoy it.
This car was sold to me from an independent dealer who took it in as a Part Exchange. This car has had 2 previous owners before me; the first owned it for 10 months (it might have been a demo vehicle as it is a high-end Titanium model), and the next owner kept it for 12 years (they must have really enjoyed the car).
The mileage is 62,000 and the MOT history shows consistent mileage intervals every year. Additionally, this car has passed every MOT first time, with not even a single advisory since new. There is no Service History, though I have a printout from the previous seller showing the car was MOT"d at the same Ford main dealership every year, so I imagine that the car was also serviced there. The car has still got Ford OEM parts, including brakes and wipers. The MOT expires in September 2020.
The last service was at 59,800 miles in September 2019 by the dealer I bought the car from, with new filters and Castrol Magnatec 5W-30 Fully Synthetic oil being used. The engine has a timing chain, so no belts to worry about. A common problem on these Duratec engines is thermostat failure around 60,000 miles, so I had that replaced with a new part as a precaution in October 2019. Otherwise, these engines are known to be generally very reliable.
Despite a lack of need for the car currently, I will be sad to see it go as it has been a wonderful car to live with. Its spacious, comfortable and never feels lacking in power. It also has that signature Ford driving experience with great controls that are intuitive to use and provide good feedback, which makes the car easy to drive in traffic, or a bit more involving on a twisty road.
Overall, the car is in very good condition, with the sort of wear and tear in the form of minor scratches and dings, as can be expected of a car that is almost 14 years old. The wheels have some of the lacquer peeling away at the diamond cut wheel rims, though are straight and otherwise undamaged. There is also a cigarette burn mark on the driver"s seat from the previous keeper, though the interior is clean and smell free.
