vehicle description:

Considering selling my 1986 Ferrari 3.2 (the best one – classic looks and cheap to maintain) Mondial, 80k miles. Rare RHD and I think only 2 in this colour?
The only reason? I also have a Porsche 944 in fantastic condition and neither car gets used much, it"s getting increasingly difficult to justify keeping both. I am also going to advertise the 944 and then decide on the best way forward.
I"ve had it since May 2011. Only seven owners (including me) which is low for a Ferrari of this age. Last owner was Mr Ferrari (really!). Cool reg number!
This car runs and drives very well and has an MOT until July 2020 but I would consider it in need of some restoration. Which of course I always intended to do... :)
Used last September for my son"s wedding – the only time it has been wet in the time I have had it but at least it wasn"t much. Stored in correct conditions since.
The paintwork is OK from a few paces away but close up is patchy and not great quality. Non standard over-sills (sills underneath I believe have been repaired so should be sound) which make the car look so much better than the black. Non standard mirrors (seriously better!). Trim round exhaust broken and not fitted but available. Nice condition 17 inch alloy wheels with good Pirelli tyres.
Engine starts well and it drives nicely with good gear changes, no noises from the suspension and it brakes well. Has a non standard keyless start system with push button on console. Leaks some oil from gear selector shaft when stood for period of time but not when warm. Doesn"t use oil or water or smoke. Sounds fantastic through a stainless sports exhaust (which cost me a lot). Electric windows work, air con did work but I think now needs gas. Had cambelt and pulleys in 2012 but only a few hundred miles since. Quite bit of history and comes with leather book pack etc.
Interior is a mix of 3.2 and 3.4 Mondial – front seats, door panels, centre console etc. from 3.4. Some holes where switches would have been when fitted to 3.4. Needs some panels making up and covering in leather... However, all in great condition and looks really good. Smells like a Ferrari inside
Some other points – boot and engine cover can only be opened using manual pulls. Sunroof doesn"t operate. No spare wheel, wear on fibreglass spare wheel tray where it has been grounded. No carpet in boot and has had some minor welding repairs. The carpet did come with the car but I would need to find it.
So, there you are. You could do what I do and use it for some fun, enjoy how well it drives and the reaction it gets from other road users. Or, you could do the work.
The photos are old but the car is still as you see it in them, surprised how few photos I have of it! If I get enough interest I will get it out of storage and take up to date ones in detail.
I need somebody to tell me what it"s worth/ what they will pay for it based on what I have said (obviously with no commitment) and I will decide whether to get it out of storage and then send them/ post the new photos. It can be viewed after the new photos have been seen as long as we still seem somewhere close on value. Hope that makes sense!
Sold my Porsche 928 to a dealer about four years ago and he looked at the Ferrari and said he thought it would be £20k. However, from what I can see, prices have come back down a little since then.
I know that how I"m marketing seems a little odd but I will only get it out of safe storage/ sell it if I think I can get a decent but sensible amount for it. Otherwise I will keep it and enjoy it this year...
Thank you :)
