Here is my wife"s TVR Chimaera 430 (4.3 litre). These are pretty rare as they were only available with this engine for a short period. The colour is also very rare and is often commented on as being stunning especially in bright sunshine. It says red on the V5 but is actually called Chianti which goes from almost black to purple, mauve and deep metallic brown according to the light but it is NOT a flip colour.
It has a very low mileage (about 46k but will increase) and runs and drives very well. This engine benefits from a Tornado chip from TVR guru Mark Adams which is designed to smooth out the low speed running etc. Recent new parts include oxygen sensors, ignition module, plugs, leads, cone air filter, water pump, coil, temperature sensors, variable fan thermostat switch and battery. All the tyres are in very good condition. It passed MOT in April with NO advisories!! There are the ubiquitous minor stone chips on the front and being picky some very small scratches. There is a blemish in the paint about the size of a 50p piece on top of the o/s/f wing just below the windscreen where I assume something was dropped on it in the past and not properly touched in. I have tried to show this in the photos as I don"t want anyone disappointed. The wheels although not kerbed could do with a refresh of paint. The roof is in excellent condition and a new windscreen was fitted when we bought it.
I have tried to show in the photos the oil pressure at temperature, the engine is in fine condition and uses no oil or water.
There are two pairs of keys as prior to our ownership it must have had one door lock changed. This does NOT have remote locking. TVR plate comes with the car.
Now TVR are due to start production of new cars next year I think these are a sure fire, useable investment when it finally dawns on the motoring fraternity just how unique and special these cars are with amazing performance from their NA RV8 based engines. Ignore the armchair experts, we have 2 Chimaeras and they have NEVER broken down!!!
The reason for sale is that this model does not have PAS and my wife is now finding it difficult to enjoy. We are both in our 60s, she will kill me for that!!! She fancies a Nissan 350z if that helps anyone??
It is strictly cash on collection or cleared bank transfer before the vehicle is released. If you bid and win you have bought it (its an auction) and I will not haggle or bargain about the price. Please be aware that the car is in West Cornwall. I am happy to collect the buyer from the nearest station which is Camborne or from Newquay airport which is approx. 25 miles away. Although I could not guarantee it for obvious reasons but I would be quite happy to drive it from Cornwall to Scotland!
